The Sultanate of Oman is located on the southeaster corner of the Arabian Peninsula. It is bordered by Yemen, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates.

Omani culture is traditionally conservative and Islamic. Omanis, known for their generosity and friendship, are very tolerant of others, and the many ex-pats in their midst benefit from an open society which includes freedom of worship, modern internet access and satellite TV, and most "creature comforts" found in the West.
