The Department of the Personnel Affairs responds to the needs of the hospital departments and the Royal Hospital staff members. The department has four sections; namely the Appointment and Termination, Employment Affairs, Accommodation, Passport and Ticketing, and Employment Records. The following briefly depicts the tasks involved in each section:
APPOINTMENTS & TERMINATION SECTION

Responsibilities:
Entry and exit point for all the staff working at The Royal Hospital.
Complete the appointment and recruitment formalities such as advertisement, candidate initial evaluation, website vacancies update, arrangement for interviews, and processing applications of accepted candidates with the MoH Headquarters.
Follow up appointment budgets with the Ministry Headquarters
Facilitate the appointment of Omani staff via collaboration with the MOCS as per their rules and regulations.
Process end of service formalities and end of service benefits of exiting staff.
EMPLOYMENT AFFAIRS

Responsibilities:
Sanction and register different types of leave requests such as annual, maternity, and scholarships for all staff levels.
Arrange and organize non-medical educational courses for the hospital staff.
Process deputation of staff from and to the hospital.
Process staff transfers internally and externally.
Initiate promotion procedures and title changes as per the regulations of the Ministry of Civil Services.
EMPLOYMENT RECORDS

Responsibilities:
Maintenance and filling of all documents for reference and as per the regulations of the MOH and MOCS policies and guidelines.
Generate certificates of all types to Royal Hospital staff to assist in the completion of their administrative procedures and personal needs. These certificates include certificate of employment, salary certificates, and visa processing confirmation.
Communicate staff status changes with the Ministry Headquarters to ensure update of staff records. This includes family status, contract type, and educational attainment.
Register and track all incoming and outgoing mail to the department of personnel affairs.
Process free treatment authentications for expatriate staff and their eligible family members.
Facilitate production of Ministry of Manpower Labor for Omani staff members
PASSPORTS AND TICKETING SECTION

Responsibilities:
Process visas applications and renewals for staff members within the regulations of the concerned authorities. These include visit, family, and hospital related visas.
Store expatriate staff passports and their families on the Ministry of Health sponsorship, as per the regulations of the Ministry of Health
Process the compensation of annual ticketing allowances for staff members and their families
Ticket procurement for different staff categories and hospital visitors.
Escort staff on their final exit through the airport to ensure smooth completion of departure formalities.

Facilitate the accommodation and allowances application of non-Omani employees subsists in the Hospital.
Manage furniture allocation as per the regulations and contracts.
Manage provision of Complex and Parking Spaces Access.
Facilitate the management and maintenance of accommodation buildings.
Oversee the management of Hospital rented accommodation.
Compile condemnation and furniture certificates.
